2010 Recap: April 2010-Easter Egg-stravaganza!

So we haven't had a 2010 recap in awhile...and what better time to do the Easter one than on Easter Sunday!  That way we can follow up with our Easter fun from this year and compare...good stuff!

Last year's Easter was packed full of egg hunts.  We had one at church, one in my parent's neighborhood, one at school and one at a friend's house.  Whew!

Thomas was getting to the age where he was starting to understand the concept of "hunting eggs."  He wasn't very quick about it but he would enjoy picking up an egg or two and seeing what treasures lay inside.

He seemed to do pretty well at the Easter egg hunt at school.  He came home with a basket full of sweets and surprises...

The egg hunt in my parent's neighborhood was pretty big.  There were lots of kids there of all ages...big and small!  There was a mad dash for the eggs...I think I remember a poor lady getting trampled...thank goodness there were plenty of eggs to go around...

Thomas and his friend, Peyton, had a lot of fun hunting eggs, seeing the live animals, playing on the playground, and taking pictures in the cute, spring-themed sitting area...

can't get over Thomas's fat little face!

Our next stop was at the Rucker's annual "Afternoon with the Easter Bunny" party.  Don't know how they do it, but they get Mr. Easter Bunny himself to stop by and visit with us...they must have some connections!

the group shots are always a trip...love the looks of terror on some of the kids faces!
We hunted even MORE eggs at Mr. Don and Mrs. Wendy's house...by this time, Thomas was getting pretty good at this whole egg hunting thing!

Easter Sunday of 2010 brought us a beautiful, spring day...

...and even MORE treats from the Easter Bunny!

We had fun...lots of fun!

Shower for Baby C

A few weekends ago, we threw my cousin, Emily, a baby shower.  She's pregnant with her first child AND this will be the first grandchild for my aunt and uncle, Gigi and Bubba.  Very exciting stuff!

She and her husband John have decided not to find out their baby's gender (so impressed with their patience!) so we had a gender-neutral themed shower that mimicked the colors of her nursery.  Thought it turned out pretty cute!

We showcased the spring season by decorating with azaleas and irises.

The diaper cake...made by moi =)

The petit fours.  They turned out so cute I thought!  Emily's bedding has a lot of geometric shapes in it so we mimicked that on them.  They were very yummy too!

Even though baby McCants' gender is a mystery, Emily and John have decided on names.  If it's a boy, his name will be Cole and if it's a girl, her name will be Caroline.  Hence, the reason the petit fours had a "C" on them...

Emily was so adorable at the shower.  Her facial expressions when she opened her gifts were priceless!

It was a great time and we really enjoyed getting to spend some time with Emily and the rest of our fam.  We're so excited for them and can't wait to meet baby C!

Congratulations McCants!

Ty's Trienta!

We have been blessed with some wonderful friends...I thank God for each of them in our lives everyday!

A few weeks back, we were able to all get together to celebrate our dear friend, Ty's, 30th birthday.  It was a super-fun, fiesta-themed party in the Jordan's beautiful backyard on a lovely spring evening.

Ty's wife, Stephanie, had asked me prior to the party to help with some of the party details.  We laughed a lot throughout this process!  It was so much fun brainstorming ways to honor Ty and all of his greatness!

One of the themes we ran with was to showcase his love for mustaches.  We did this through several avenues:

displayed on the cake,

in the form of personal mustaches for each guest (both living and non) to wear,

proudly displayed, in true form, on the birthday boy himself,

and showcased on pictures of Ty (and his family...) in earlier times of life.  This was by-far the funnest and funniest project to work on.  Props to Adam and his "mustache app!"

The food was great, the music was kickin' and the company was top-notch!

As the night progressed, we had some sing-alongs and a little dancing.
the little one is Ruby Belle, Ty's niece...his number one fan...isn't she a doll?

It was an awesome party and we were so honored to be able to celebrate this big milestone with our friend.

Happy 30th birthday Ty!  We feel blessed to have you as a friend and hope you have many, many more years of fun and happiness!

4 Months

Happy 4 months today Evan!  What a big, beautiful boy your becoming!

This past month has FLOWN by...we've been busy and Evan's had some big events in his little life...

As I noted in earlier posts, he was baptized in March, which was a wonderful celebration, AND we said goodbye to his sweet little Elvis lip...

...and hello to a beautiful new lip!  Thank you Dr. Ghali!  We are truly amazed!

He is still such a happy baby and LOVES to smile!

He has discovered his hands and his feet, which provide him hours of entertainment.

He tolerates his exersaucer for much longer periods of time these days...

...and even takes the occasional snooze while in it!

He's still a GREAT sleeper, sleeping from about 10 to 5...Mama's not complaining!

He still loves bathtime and has discovered that he can splash in the tub, thus making it more difficult for Mama to corral the little wiggle-worm.

We've started bringing him to church, which has been fun.  I mean, who doesn't like people constantly "ooo-ing" and "coo-ing" over you??

It's so much fun watching his little personality form.  He's a fun little guy and we love him more and more each day!

Happy 4 months sweet boy!!
