Sneaux Days

In the south, we can usually count our encounters with snow on one hand.  I mentioned one of our larger snows last year in one of my recap posts.  This year, we've had a couple of bouts with winter precipitation already...where we can actually see snow falling from the sky and it even sticks!  One happened right at the beginning of the year in January.  There wasn't a whole lot of accumulation on the ground but it sure looked pretty falling from the sky!

We had our SECOND snow this past week.  This one was a bit more significant where it actually stuck and the world looked white, for a day or so.  Exciting stuff for a bunch of southerners!  Kids had a day off from school, many businesses took the day off, roads were closed, and we all hunkered down in the house, glad to have a day to veg!

Unfortunately, we planned poorly for winter this year and the only "snow-worthy" jacket we had for Thomas was his ski coat from last year.  It fit him ok...maybe a little short in the sleeves...but he refused to wear it!  So we stayed inside and enjoyed the snow from the warmth of the house.

It was really pretty outside.

I think that other parts of the city got more snow.  I've seen pictures of places where it looks like there were a couple of inches on the ground!

We had a lot of fun inside during our snow day.  Mamou was able to brave the outdoor conditions (thanks to Papa's all-terrain tires!) and came over to hang out with us.

Hope everyone stayed warm!  This has been a crazy winter.  The weekend before, we had beautiful, sunny, seventy degree weather.  And more snow has been forcasted for later on this week!  Weird.
